Jesus for President

We're living in such a pivotal time in history. All the wars,
the weird weather, our economy and the environment.
There's a lot going on. Each candidate is presenting their
case on why we should elect them. It's almost like
people feel the despair of our current situation, and in
a sense are looking for a "messiah" to save them.

The whole idea of having kings, leaders and presidents
was never God's original plan for us.

1 Samuel 8: 4-19 Israel rejects Samuel's sons and
requests a king. They weren't content with God being
their king, they wanted a king like all the other nations.
God tells them that they haven't rejected Samuel, but
have rejected God as their King. The Lord then explains
to them the extent of what the new king will do to them
and how he will treat them.

John McCain can't save us. Nor Barack Obama. No matter
what your political party is, if you consider yourself a
Christian let's re evaluate Who our King is. Who the real
Messiah
is. Does your loyalty lie with your party, or with
Jesus? Could it be that we are the answer to the
problems we see in society and the world, and not the
government or another politician? Remember, His
kingdom is not of this world, but it's for this world.

Maybe the way we've been going about it has been
all wrong. I wonder what life would look like if we
refused to bow to our modern day Ceasars, and
Babylons and returned to the Kingdom of God instead
of the kingdom of this world.
